Prenatal massage offers a range of physical, emotional, and mental benefits for pregnant individuals. These benefits help manage the changes and challenges associated with pregnancy while promoting overall well-being.
Pregnancy-Specific Benefits:
Prepares the Body for Labor:
Relaxes and loosens muscles, potentially aiding in labor and delivery.
Can help reduce labor pain when practiced consistently.
Balances Hormones:
Studies suggest massage can help regulate stress hormones like cortisol while increasing "feel-good" hormones like dopamine and serotonin.
Prep & Support for Breastfeeding/Lactation: Jen provides massage work to the breast to prep for lactation & while breastfeeding. This work helps keep ducts open & decrease the chances of infections like mastitis & thrush. Gentle breast massage can also help immensely for breast tenderness during pregnancy & breastfeeding after giving birth. Breast Massage for Lactation for more information.
